I was fortunate enough back in January to get into a training course called Tiny Little Businesses (TLB).
One of the guys behind it is Andre Chaperon and I’ve benefitted from some of his earlier training. For TLB, Andre has collaborated with Steve Gray, another successful online business owner.
Unfortunately for me, it was actually reading one of Andre’s ‘stories’ (Frank v Matt) that made me feel uncomfortable. I’m fortunate in that I do OK from affiliate marketing but, equally, I know there are areas I’m not so good at. Andre is a masterful writer who has the ability to paint pictures in a way I can really relate to. Perhaps you could to? Click to continue…

One thing the affiliate marketing world isn’t short of now is books. I’ve bought a few ‘duff ones’ in my time and here my aim is present to you those books that I’ve read that genuinely offer good advice and not just tired old rubbish regurgitated.
You don’t need to buy every single book going but if you think you can build your affiliate business into anything other than ‘pin money’ without investing in at least one or two books, you’d be wrong. Decide whether you want this to be a business or a hobby and act accordingly. Click to continue…
The Affiliate Networks act as the ‘middle man’ between you (the website owner) and the merchant (the service or product owner).
In a nutshell, the networks provide you the opportunity to join various affiliate programs, add links or banners to your site and then pay you your due commission. In turn, they will take a slice of the action from the merchant. The advantage for the merchant, is that the management of their affiliate program is out-sourced so they can get on with running their business.
Which Affiliate Network?
There are many around but you want to ensure you are working with reputable companies who have a broad offering of affiliate programs, offer a good support structure and actually PAY YOU!
I’ve used many over the years and the following networks have a solid history and are reputable. Click to continue…
Affiliate programs are also known as associate, reseller, or referral programs. They are revenue sharing programs between companies (the merchant) and individuals (the affiliate). An Affiliate can be likened to an independent contractor.
As an affiliate marketer, you are basically self-employed and market the products and/or services of another company. You are then paid a commission by the company they represent for referring customers to the company’s website. Put simply, it allows merchants to extend their marketing reach by advertising on web sites other than their own. The web site owner, or Affiliate, gets paid a percentage based on the sale value. Affiliate Marketing is an excellent way to develop a business online without necessarily having your own website or products.
In simple terms, the affiliate earns a commission reselling other companies products or services. Affiliate programs may be the easiest online business to start running.

Forums are a great place to find out information from other affiliates. They can be a bit daunting at first, so take your time and just have a good look around. Once you’ve built your confidence and got a feel for the character of the place, go ahead and ask your question.
Develop a relationship by contributing and even answering questions yourself should you feel qualified to do so.
Make sure you read the specific forum rules before posting and, unless otherwise stated, never do a blatant sales pitch. It’ll surely end in tears! Click to continue…
