Affiliate marketing Books
One thing the affiliate marketing world isn't short of now
is books. I've bought a few 'duff ones' in my time and here my
aim is present to you those books that I've read that
genuinely offer good advice and not just tired
old rubbish regurgitated.
You don't need to buy every single book going but if you
think you can build your affiliate business into anything other
than 'pin money' without investing in at least one or two
books, you'd be wrong. Decide whether you want this to be a
business or a hobby and act accordingly.
If you've been online a while and get what affiliate
marketing business is, then go for Jeremy Palmers or Day Job
Killer.
Finally, if you want a nice, solid introduction to
'everything' then go for Rosalind Gardner's book. This would
probably be too basic if you've already got your own site up
and running and are looking for fine tuning.
If pay per click is your thing, then also check out my
recommendations for AdWords books.

Performance Affiliate Marketing Book Review

Super Affiliate Handbook
Rosalind Gardner
Rosalind is proof that Affiliate Marketing can work 'big
time' for anyone with a strong desire to succeed.

Having spent almost 20 years in Air Traffic Control, she was
looking for a way out of that stressful existence and in 1997
discovered Affiliate Programs. The rest, as they say, is
history and now Rosalind has put all of her knowledge into
creating a 252 page book that should take pride of place on any
Affiliate Marketer's bookshelf.
This is a great book to get if the whole 'internet
thing' is new to you. Rosalind takes you right from
the basics (domain names, hosting etc.,) all the through to
showing you how her affiliate revenues exploded by developing
content rich websites in highly targeted niches.

Day Job Killer
Chris McNeeney
Not for newcomers! This is a short affiliate
book (Released February 2007) that makes up for the lack
of pages (just 69) with some proven techniques that really
work. Read my full review of Day Job Killer.
In short though, this books hinges around using
Google AdWords and exposes some nifty tricks to help give you
an advantage. As already stated, this is not an introduction
book, more aimed at those affiliates with some experience,
particularly with using paid search.
Very good.

Final Thoughts
If you're serious about developing an affiliate
business, either part time or full time, then do
yourself a favour and invest in yourself. Take the time to read
books from Affiliates that have already proven success doing
what they preach. Many people make the mistake (I did!) of not
treating their affiliate business seriously. You can spend a
long time finding your own way and getting nowhere. If you
REALLY want to run your own business, buy a good affiliate
book, read it, make notes and develop your plan. Treat it like
a real business, and it will become one.
