Affiliate Accreditation Program

Following a recent forum topic regarding improvements to the affiliate marketing industry, I thought that I post my comment here as well.

I think there needs to be a formal, independent accreditation program.

In short, the merchants should apply to be audited and able to demonstrate that every aspect of their affiliate program is in order, e.g. tracking, support, payment schedule, marketing materials etc.

I know I’ve lost money in the past from unscrupulous merchants and often they’re in a different country to me making it impossible to take any action. If there was a site affiliates could go to and check the register of approved merchants, I’m sure that would improve the industry for everyone.

Obviously, if you have a comment to add to this or know if such an organisation already exists, please post your reply here.
