Get Rid of Ugly Affiliate Links

Filed under: Affiliate Marketing; Author: Adrian; Posted: January 17, 2006 at 4:54 pm;

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against ugly affiliate links personally and believe they have as much right online as the next URL, but the simple fact is that people just won’t click on them!

As an example, the link below is one of my affiliate links:

http://refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clicks.cgi?CA=924482-0000&PA=1143150

Pretty horrible, I think you’d agree?

Now, there are plenty of ways to mask URLs but there’s a new (and free) kid on the block who will turn the link above into something much shorter, e.g. http://www.linkbrander.com/go/3573

Link Brander is a great new service that anyone can use without having to know PHP or how to set-up a SQL database. It’s free and easy to use and, as an added benefit, when the Link Brander
link is clicked on, it carries a discrete ad (you choose where to place it) and you earn advertising credits each time your site is displayed. Combine this with the referral program and you could soon be on your way to building anice, steady stream of visitors to your website.
