My Review of ReviewMe

The following is a paid review of ‘ReviewMe‘. In a fascinating twist, Patrick Gavin, the president of Text Link Ads, has just launched a brand new service for blogs.

In essence, the concept is that advertisers can order reviews of their product or service by bloggers who have quality blogs related to that theme. The bloggers get paid for submitting these reviews on their own blogs. Effectively, you can now be paid to blog, doing what you might have been doing anyway.

The marketplace is made up of blogs from all kinds of industries, including entertainment, finance, internet marketing and shopping. The chance are, if you have a product or service you’d like to promote, it is highly likely that there’ll be a blog who you could ask to provide a review. All blogs are rated and come with a clear pricing model so you know exactly how much you’re going to pay and know the quality of the blogger providing the review.

When the blog is initially submitted, the account holder adds tags to facilitate the searching and ordering function for potential advertisers.

Blogging is big business but for smaller bloggers, it has always been a challenge trying to combine their love of writing with the realisation that blogging for profit can be difficult. ReviewMe has levelled the playing field and, for the first time, made it possible for any gifted writer to develop an income stream by writing quality reviews on their own blog. This is an exciting developing in online marketing and one that I suggest you monitor very closely.

Don’t go there, folks. What happens when you give harsh criticism, reveal a reviewed program or report for the junk it is and warn people against buying it? What producers would want to pay you to maybe kill their products?
And how could anybody trust a favourable review?
A reviewer could ruin his/her reputation with just one posting. You sell out your integrity once, it’s gone forever. Then where is your business?

I understand your point Curte but I’m sure there is a place for this for people that can give an honest and fair review of a product or service. I would think that if you looked at something and decided you had a negative view of it, you would simply disregard the order.
