Building Affiliate Websites
Building affiliate websites can be a pain in the backside! First you need to think of the design, the hosting, adding links and then… adding useful content.
Now, I don’t mind writing the odd article or two but to build content for hundreds of pages for a website can be extremely time consuming. This then leads onto my problem of procrastination. I’m not short of ideas and with some of the affiliate software I use, identifying markets is rarely a problem. Oh, but do I really have to add all that content? Well, the short answer is yes. There’s no getting away from the fact that if you want to build a website that is search engine friendly and is going to encourage visitors to explore, you need to TAKE ACTION. I’d read the other one of the wonderful Site Point newsletters how simple business can be yet the missing element for most of us is that we fail to act. I know from bitter experience how true this can be. If I got paid for ideas I’d be wealthy but, unless you’re very fortunate, life just isn’t like that. You need to go the extra yard, plan your strategy and act accordingly. Small steps.
I’m experimenting with a ‘new toy’ at the moment that should help take some of the pain from adding content. I’ll report back on this when I have results. Building an affiliate business is great but it’s no different to any other… you only get back what you put in.
