Google AdWords Software

You do not need to use software to manage your Google AdWords campaigns but knowing the right tools for the job could just be the difference between success and failure.

Free AdWords Software

The very first piece of software you should be using is Google's own AdWords Editor. This free application is a must, particularly if you have many Campaigns, Ad Groups and Keywords to manage.

Professional AdWords Software

Adword Accelerator

One application, many invaluable tools! This great product has recently been upgraded (now version 3 from February 2008) and offers great value for money. If you only have one or two campaigns, you won't need it but if you are a serious online marketer using AdWords extensively, this really should be on your list. With Adword Accelerator, you will be able to:

Find new keywords to use in highly competitive markets
Identify which keywords should be avoided (negatives)
Be able to spy on your competition and see which of your competitors produce ad copy that works well
Gain access to 8 advanced research tools that will help you refine your campaigns

and more besides!

Speed PPC

What a brilliant bit of kit! Speed PPC isn't cheap but if you value your time, this is one investment you definitely should make.

So what does it do? In simple terms, Speed PPC can take combinations of keywords and ad copy and produce highly targeted Pay per Click campaigns ready for import into the most popular PPC search engines. You could achieve exactly the same result with Excel but it would take you days not minutes as is the case with Speed PPC.

Who is this for? Anyone who makes regular use of PPC search engines and values time. This is not suitable for novice PPC users or anyone who just builds the occasional campaign.

Other AdWords Applications

Other tools you need in your box would be a:

  • A spreadsheet application, e.g. MS Excel, for the sorting and sifting.
  • A text editor for organising and expanding, e.g., search/replace 'Word A' with 'Misspelled Word B'. Any will do, e.g. notepad but my chosen application is the excellent NoteTab Pro and if you find yourself spending a lot of time with your keywords, it may be worth investing in a professional text editor.
